Frank Lampard sacked by Chelsea and Tuchel is wanted.

Frank Lampard has been sacked from his position as manager of Chelsea and will be replaced by Thomas Tuchel, a former Paris Saint-Germain coach.

Lampard had been in charge for just over 18 months, but in the last eight games, he was sacked after five defeats.

Owner Roman Abramovich made a rare remark about Lampard's departure as well.

“This was a very difficult decision for the Club,” began Abramovich, “not least because I have an excellent personal relationship with Frank Lampard and I have the utmost respect for him’.

“He is a man of great integrity and has the highest of work ethics. However, under current circumstances we believe it is best to change managers.

“On behalf of everyone at the Club, the Board and personally, I would like to thank Frank Lampard for his work as Head Coach and wish him every success in the future. He is an important icon of this great club and his status here remains undiminished. He will always be warmly welcomed back at Stamford Bridge.”

It is known that Thomas Tuchel is set to be named successor to Frank Lampard.
